Community Rules

OutaStory is a community built on mutual respect and creative expression. All members are expected to uphold the following standards of conduct at all times.

Conduct & Respect

• Treat every member of the community with respect — harassment, personal attacks, and demeaning language are not tolerated.
• Hate speech of any kind — whether based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, or any other characteristic — is strictly prohibited.
• Use clean, civil language in all public areas of the platform including comments, reviews, and messages.
• Protect the data privacy of other users; never share personal information about another person without their explicit consent.
• Comply with all applicable laws. Any activity that is illegal in your jurisdiction is also prohibited on OutaStory.
• Spam, unsolicited advertising, and repetitive or irrelevant posts are prohibited.

Reporting & Enforcement

• Report any violation of these rules to our moderation team using the in-app reporting tools or by contacting support directly.
• OutaStory operates a zero-tolerance policy for serious violations. Confirmed offenders may be permanently removed from the platform without prior warning.

Your Content

All content you post on OutaStory — including but not limited to comments, reviews, and profile information — is your content and your responsibility. By submitting content you confirm that it does not violate these Terms or any applicable law, and that you have all necessary rights to publish it.

Member Terms

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to register for an OutaStory account. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

Services Included

• Browsing and discovering stories on the platform.
• Reading published stories in accordance with your chosen plan.
• Using "My Stories" to track stories you follow or are currently reading.
• A free preview of the first 5 pages of any story before purchasing access.

Pricing & Plans

• Monthly with Ads — 4.99 EUR per month. Unlimited reading with standard advertising.
• Monthly without Ads — 7.99 EUR per month. Unlimited reading, completely ad-free.
• Pay-per-Page via Bookies — 0.02 EUR per page, paid using the platform's Bookie virtual currency. No subscription required.

Cancellation & Termination

Your membership continues until you cancel. To terminate your membership, notify us in writing. Termination takes effect at the end of the calendar month following the month in which notice is received.

Technical Requirements

Access to OutaStory requires a compatible device and a stable internet connection. OutaStory is not responsible for any limitations arising from inadequate hardware or connectivity.

Prohibited Actions

• Downloading, copying, screen-capturing, or otherwise extracting stories or story content from the platform is strictly prohibited.
• Editing, adapting, or repurposing published stories without the explicit consent of the respective author is not permitted.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide at least 21 days' advance notice of material changes via email and in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason. Please contact our support team to exercise this right.

Writer Contract

Services Provided by OutaStory

OutaStory provides writers with server capacity, publication infrastructure, and distribution services for works in the sci-fi, fantasy, and romance genres. Writers may optionally enable audiobook production via our text-to-speech pipeline. Writers retain full control over publication timing for their works.

Content Requirements

All submitted works must comply with applicable law. The following content is expressly prohibited:

• Illegal content of any kind.
• Glorification or trivialisation of violence.
• Pornographic content.
• Content that infringes the rights of third parties, including but not limited to intellectual property rights and rights of publicity.

Indemnification

Writers agree to indemnify and hold OutaStory harmless against any claims, damages, or costs arising from content they publish on the platform.

Pseudonym Publishing

Writers may publish under a pseudonym. OutaStory will respect the writer's chosen pen name in all public-facing contexts.

AI-Generated Content

AI-generated content is not permitted on OutaStory. We believe that creative writing must come from human authors. OutaStory reserves the right to review, restrict access to, or remove any content suspected of being primarily generated by artificial intelligence tools.

Right of First Negotiation

OutaStory holds a right of first negotiation for any additional exploitation of works published on the platform, including but not limited to podcast adaptations, commercial audiobooks, and film or television adaptations. This right does not limit the writer's ownership of their work.

Term & Termination

The writer contract is of unlimited duration. Either party may terminate with one month's notice to the end of a calendar quarter. Upon termination, all rights to the published works revert fully to the writer.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from this agreement is Hanover, Germany.
